Hey Kiddos! Let's Have A Fun Day!

The girls are in the Christmas spirit of giving

It wouldn't be a trip to the mall without visiting the Disney Store

After some super fun escalator rides, we all hit the playground

Last stop dinner at Chuck E Cheese

I wish every day could be a "fun day"!

You know, there is this thing called Pinterest.  I have got to tell you I am addicted.  It is usually a late night guilty pleasure.  Before, I used my favorites bar on my computer to store all the great ideas I found on the web.  Now, I have pinboards for that and lots of them.  Soooo many ideas, so little time is even more true now.  Luckily, I had some time to finish up one of those great ideas I found for Ella room.

A ribbon valance for her windows

I love the vintage/shabby chic feel it gives the room

The best part is it was super easy!  Just some jute and scrap fabric torn in strips tied onto it.

Over the hills and through the woods to Papa George's house we go...

We took a day trip with all the kids to see Papa George and Mimi Kim.  They are building a new log cabin not far from Chattanooga.  After a quick bite of lunch with them, we headed up the mountain ridge to see their new place.  It was a gorgeous drive. The leaves were all changing and we spotted a breathtaking view of the town below around one of the curves.  The kids loved the "rollercoaster" road.
It wasn't long before we were there.

We took a tour and saw all the hard work they have already done. It will be a wonderful retreat to call home when they are finished.  My favorite might have been the exposed beam ceiling in the living room. The girls had so much fun running around.

Shepherd loved watching them play and got lots of practice walking outside.

We had a blast and look forward to many more great times at the new house!

Ecclectic Halloween

I've had fun getting the house a little spruced up for Halloween.  Mom always told me the very things I used to turn my nose up at when looking for holiday decorations would be the very things I would buy someday.  It makes me so happy to see the girls excitement over the fun (and tacky) stuff. You were so very right, Mom!

All original artwork by some really great talents anchor the main wall in our kitchen. (notice the Halloween boa -such tacky fun)

Another area in the kitchen adds to the festive vibe.

Window decals are always a favorite.

I hope I can find some more great stuff for holidays coming next!

Beans, clothes, & pom poms

Little Man has graduated to whole milk & table food. He really loves food especially beans. Baked beans, green beans, black beans - he "tears it up" when they hit the tray. (Gotta love Daddy quotes!) Here is our bean boy.
His next stop was the bathtub.

Clothes are always a problem around our house. They are everywhere. It's embarrasing how many clothes we have.  I truly love going to the children's consignment sales for the kids. It is so fun to buy their wardrobe at a great price.  This year my goal has been to buy less. Just gotta control myself tomorrow when everything is half-off tomorrow at Another Child's Treasure. Been working on changing out all our clothes for the season.

It really helps to have cheerleaders to keep me on track!

Happy Birthday Shepherd!

Ella, Mommy, and Daddy all turned toward Shepherd's playpen (I call penitentiary) singing "Happy Birthday" to our 1 year old. This moment doesn't seem like it should be possible yet. A year old? He is beaming at us on his knees jumping up and down in excitement. Laughs combine with giggles from our precious birthday boy. This is one of those moments you wish you could stop time and savor a little longer.

I love you Shepherd more than you could possibly know! Happy First Birthday "bubby"!

Hanging Out

The events and the wonderful places we go are great, but sometimes the mundane is wonderful.  Just sharing a little of our times hanging out at the house.

And Greg - I don't know why you don't like my "mumu"?  All I can say is it is super comfy. Ha!
