Home

We all have the memories of what home meant to us as children.  I lucked upon Home: A Memoir of my Early Years by Julie Andrews in the paperback section of Goodwill.  I am about halfway through the book that highlights Julie Andrews childhood before she experienced mega stardom.  Her home was a far cry from Mary Poppins.  She tells of the despair and wonder that rippled through her youth.  I look forward to reading more.

a new way to get curls

I love the way my hair looks when I take time to curl it with the big barrel curling iron. Waves that cascade are wonderful, but let's face it, I can count the amount of times I have done this this year on one hand. I am a major ponytail girl. Hair out of the way and ready for the day in two seconds flat.  It works great but can get b-o-r-i-n-g.  I found this video tutorial on a nifty way to get no-heat curls.

Here was how the experiment went

Believe it or not, Greg actually liked the "flapper" look. That really cracked me up. Hopefully, he will like the curls better when he gets home this afternoon. I sure do!

my new favorite

Do you ever get sick of dead batteries in your camera or the kids toys that are forever in need of a replacement?

I used to buy these
and I loved them. They lasted a really long time and fewer trips to the store. Then, I found these

and I have a new favorite now! These are really great batteries that are pre-charged so it is instant gratification the minute you get your hands one them.  I took the plunge and switched. Now, no running to the store to replace dead batteries. Here's the link if you are up for making the switch.
